MT29 offers the opportunity to publish selected, peer-reviewed papers submitted by conference attendees in a special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (TAS), an archival, peer-reviewed, fully indexed and searchable journal published by the IEEE Council on Superconductivity.
TAS has been recognized by IEEE as a High-Performance Publication for its exceptional turnaround time in Q4 2024. With an average of just 8.3 weeks from submission to first decision, we offer researchers a fast, reliable path to publication. TAS welcomes high-quality submissions across all areas of Applied Superconductivity.
The publication process allows final manuscripts to be available on IEEE Xplore on average as early as 90 days after the conference, and most, if not all, accepted manuscripts will be available for download and citation prior to the scheduled summer 2026 release of the entire Special Issue.
Manuscript Submission Site Opens
The manuscript submission site is scheduled to open for submission on Monday, July 14, 2025
Update: An email was sent on Monday, July 14, to the submitting author of the abstract with submission and login information. This person is, by default, the corresponding author of the manuscript submission and peer review process (unless a request to change the corresponding author was submitted to the editorial office).

- If another author will be responsible for the submission and peer review process, please submit your request to change the corresponding author via email no later than Monday, July 7, 2025. Please include the presentation ID and title in your request.
- Note that the manuscript submitter does not need to be the presenter/registrant at the conference, however, when submitting the paper, the unique registration associated with the presentation/paper will be used to validate the submission.
All corresponding authors must have an ORCID ID.
Manuscript Submission Deadline
11:59 p.m. EST, Monday, July 28, 2025. This deadline is firm.
Important: Extensions will only be granted for extraordinary circumstances. Sponsor, supervisor, or other approvals as well as English content reviews must be received/performed before the submission deadline. Extensions beyond a few days will not be granted
Presentation is a Requirement for Publication!
Authors presenting at MT29 are not required to submit a manuscript. For authors that choose to submit a manuscript, the content of the manuscript must substantially follow the material presented at MT29 during the appointed time in the program, and in turn should correspond to the accepted abstract (or new topic approved by the Program Chair). For posters, presentation means that an author is available during the duration of the poster session to discuss the work and answer questions. Posting of the pages of the manuscript does not constitute presentation. Changes to the program, which have been approved by the MT29 Program Committee, will be allowed for submitted manuscripts. An abstract accepted for presentation at MT29 may not lead to a published paper in the TAS special issue. The Scope of TAS is described here, see page 3.

NOTE: TAS issues related to conferences will not publish author biographies. When using the TAS template, please remove the biography section before submitting your paper to the special issue peer review website.
Authorship
The IEEE affirms that authorship credit must be reserved for individuals who have met each of the following conditions:
- Made a significant intellectual contribution to the theoretical development, system or experimental design, prototype development, and/or the analysis and interpretation of data associated with the work contained in the article;
- Contributed to drafting the article or reviewing and/or revising it for intellectual content; and
- Approved the final version of the article as accepted for publication, including references.
Author List Changes during Peer Review or after Acceptance
Once the list and order of authors has been established, the list and order of authors should not be altered without permission of ALL authors of that article. Change in the author list is considered rare and exceptional, and the decision to allow such changes rests with the Editor. If the author list must be changed during or after peer review, approval from all co-authors (including proposed additions) must be collected by signing the form found HERE. The form along with the reason must be emailed to pubs@centennialconferences.com for editor approval. Please be sure to include your manuscript tracking ID.
Manuscript Changes After Acceptance
Final file submissions must match the accepted manuscript. Changes made at this stage are deemed to be a retraction by IEEE and are not generally allowed. If changes must be made after manuscript acceptance, please send your request to pubs@centennialconferences.com for consideration by the Editor BEFORE uploading your final files. Please be sure to include your manuscript tracking ID.
Use of Artificial Intelligence and Other Writing Assistance
IEEE understands that artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including grammar assistants, can reduce the writing burden and increase the productivity of authors when developing a manuscript for submission. The use of content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in an article (including but not limited to text, figures, images, and code) shall be disclosed in the acknowledgments section of any article submitted to an IEEE publication. The AI system used shall be identified, and specific sections of the article that use AI-generated content shall be identified and accompanied by a brief explanation regarding the level at which the AI system was used to generate the content. The use of AI systems for editing and grammar enhancement is common practice and, as such, is generally outside the intent of the above policy. In this case, disclosure as noted above is recommended. An example is to add to the acknowledgment “Grammar in this manuscript was corrected with the assistance of Grammarly.”
Authors who plan to assist with the peer review should note that AI tools cannot be used in any way to prepare a review due to violation of review confidentiality.
Misuse of AI tools and other misconduct may be subject to IEEE sanctions.
Reuse of Content/Material
Recycling of material in a new document (previously called “self-plagiarism”, or “reuse”) happens when the material in the new document is identical, or substantively equivalent in both form and content, to that of the source. At times, it may be necessary for authors to recycle portions of their own previously published work, which is treated differently than when an author includes another author’s material.
When an author reuses recycled text, charts, photographs, or other graphics from his/her own previously published material, the author shall:
1. Adhere to all copyright policies, clearly indicate all recycled material, and provide a full reference to the original publication of the material; and
2. If the previously published or submitted material is used as a basis for a new submission, clearly indicate how the new submission differs from the previously published work(s) in the manuscript text (as well as possibly in the cover letter to the editor).
As has been the publication policy, when an author uses text, charts, or photographs or other graphics from another author’s existing material, the author shall:
1. Clearly indicate reused material and provide a full reference to the origin (publication, person, etc.) of the material;
2. Obtain written permission from the publisher or, if the reused material has not been published, obtain written permission from the original source.

Payment of Fees
- Fees for submitting an additional manuscript (US $440 / manuscript) must be paid in advance. Payment can be made while registering for MT29 or onsite at the conference through Saturday, July 5, 2025. Rejection of a manuscript after peer review does not imply any refund of any fees paid.
- Fees for additional manuscript pages (US $110/per page) are due with acceptance of the paper. You will be contacted by the editorial staff with instructions on how to submit payment. Please note that payment will be collected by MT29, not IEEE. Voluntary page charges (or over-length article fees) processed by IEEE are not the same as the mandatory additional page charges processed by MT29.
- Open access can be arranged directly with IEEE but must be requested prior to the article being published. Open access processing charges must be paid to IEEE. Institutions that have a read-and-publish agreement should consult representatives who can advise about the use of pre-arranged open access allocations.
